It is our dedicated, experienced, and hardworking crew’s mission to fulfil all of your offshore fishing expectations
Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Captain Dave has been fishing ever since he can remember. As a mate in Hatteras, NC at a very young age, he spent his childhood and teenage years fishing and surfing Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks.
After a sting in the US Coast Guard, Dave began his professional career as a deckhand out of Hatteras Inlet, NC where he set his sights on not only excelling in fishing, but running boats from Maryland to Puerto Rico and all ports in between.
Captain Dave been a staple of the Virginia Beach industry for years. With Dave’s extensive knowledge of the ocean, we are confident that whatever you may desire, be it a quest for a giant blue marlin or a wahoo, or a box full of fish to take home for the freezer, or just a relaxing day in the Gulf Stream with friends or family, Captain Dave will do everything he can to deliver the trip and fish of a lifetime.

- Ice and on board cooler for fish
THINGS TO BRING
- Sunscreen ( no spray allowed)
- Lunch, Snacks and Drinks (Beer cans allowed but no bottles or hard liquor)
- It gets hot on the ocean so plenty of water is recommended
- Rain Gear / Jacket for inclement weather
- Sunglasses ( polarized is best)
- Camera
- Non marking boat shoes or shoes with light colored ( non-slip soles)
- A cooler for your catch (you can leave this one in you car until we return)
OFFSHORE FISHING
The offshore fishing bite in Virginia Beach is best from late May through October and is some of the best offshore fishing in the world. Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi (Dolphin), Tuna (Bluefin, Yellowfin, Big Eye) are the primary catches.
INSHORE FISHING
Our inshore fishing bite is also great in Virginia Beach and is a great trip for anyone looking to get on the water for a few hours or to get introduced to fishing. Like offshore, the best season runs May through October. Primary inshore catches usually consist of Taylor Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel recently we have been catching Cobia, Flounder and Red Drum (Channel Bass)

Due to the ability to hold up to 6 people, the Talon can host your next special event ! Private Dolphin watching tours, Whale watching tours (in season) or just about anything you may have in mind- from bachelor/bachelorette parties, company trips, family trips, burials at sea- and more!

Best trip we have ever taken. Boat was huge and comfortable, tunes were good and the Captain took us to all the good fishing spots. First mate Shawn was friendly, knowledgeable and helped us catch a good variety. We got a cooler full of fish, lots of good pics and we can’t wait for our next trip!
Had an eventful trip, mate was very helpful. Capt and mate very friendly and most of all caught a cooler full of fish. Though I was the lone angler on the trip I really enjoyed my day. I highly recommend Talon Sportsfishing . Will use them for a wreck fishing trip when plans come concrete
Had a great day captain put us on a limit of Spade mate was great at showing the teenagers how to hook them which was no small feat.. 1 45lb Cobia was the highlight. Boat is very clean and well maintained we will be back out with Captain Dave
